THE ROLE OF COMPETITION ACTIVITIES ON THE LEARNING MOTIVATION OF CHILDREN IN AL IKHLAS TPA SANTRI AT AR ROHMAN MOSQUE BELITANG 1, BELITANG DISTRICT, SEKADAU REGENCY

Abstract

One component that influences a person's success is their motivation to learn. There is motivation that drives someone to do something. High motivation to learn will produce the best results. Students who have high motivation will look very enthusiastic, passionate, don't want to give up, and try hard to read to improve their learning outcomes and solve problems. Students who have low motivation will appear indifferent, discouraged, and not focused on lessons, which causes learning difficulties.This research was motivated by the alleged lack of children's motivation to learn when teaching and learning activities took place at the Al Ikhlas TPA, Ar Rohman Mosque, Belitang Village 1. So the researchers tried to implement competition activities with prizes as an alternative to increasing children's learning motivation. The aim of this research is to see the effectiveness of competition activities in increasing the learning motivation of Al Ikhlas TPA students' learning motivation. The research results show that carrying out competition activities with prizes can increase children's learning motivation in the form of changes in attitude and enthusiasm when teaching and learning activities are taking place
